Dan Konyk wins Spain's first RE/MAX World Long Drive Championship at PGA Catalunya Resort

-- /EPR NETWORK/ -- Attended by throngs of spectators, PGA Catalunya Resort hosted golf's big-hitters from across the globe for RE/MAX World Long Drive Championship, including 2010 World Champion Joe Miller, fellow Brit Dan Konyk, Gerrard Pera - the first Spaniard to take part in a World Championship and 2011 Rookie of the year, - and Swedish sensation, Jorgen Trank.

Dan Konyk thundered his way to victory at the number one golf course in Spain with a winning shot of 366 yards, and also strike the longest ball of the day of 417 yards.

Qualifying for a place in the Grand Final in Las Vegas, Dan Konyk also takes home a cheque for €3,000.

Miguel Girbes, Director of Golf at PGA Catalunya Resort and match referee for the special event, said: "Hosting the first World Long Drive Championship in Europe has been a privilege, especially as the event has been extremely well attended.
