Slava’s Snowshow Set for Winter Run in Capital

December 19, 2012, 7:53 am -- /EPR NETWORK/ -- The multi-award winning theatrical spectacle ‘Slava's Snowshow' has been a worldwide hit, staged in more than 80 cities around the world including Paris and New York. The show has already proven itself on the UK stage, and is set to return to London in 2012 for a special Christmas run at the Royal Festival Hall.

A winning combination of clowning, pyrotechnics and breathtaking sets, the critics have called the show ‘a visual masterpiece'. ‘Slava's Snowshow' will run for three weeks, from December 17th until January 7th. The show was conceived by legendary Russian performance artist Slava Polunin, described The Times as ‘the greatest clown in the world'. The paper called his eponymous show ‘a theatre classic of the 20 th Century.'

The show was launched in the West with the objective of raising money for Polunin's own Academy of Fools, a centre of arts designed to resurrect carnival culture in Russia. It went on to win numerous awards, including the Laurence Olivier Award for Best Entertainment in 1998.

‘Slava's Snowshow' is aimed at everyone above the age of 8, and takes audiences on a fantastical adventure through a bizarre dream-world. Its spectacular denouement is comprised of a raging blizzard that leaves the crowd knee deep in theatrical snow.
