Slava’s Snowshow Set for Winter Run in Capital

Website offers discounted hotels in London close to Southbank Centre, for Christmas run of Tony-award winning stage extravaganza.

-- /EPR NETWORK/ -- The multi-award winning theatrical spectacle Slava's Snowshow' has been a worldwide hit, staged in more than 80 cities around the world including Paris and New York. The show has already proven itself on the UK stage, and is set to return to London in 2012 for a special Christmas run at the Royal Festival Hall.

A winning combination of clowning, pyrotechnics and breathtaking sets, the critics have called the show a visual masterpiece'. Slava's Snowshow' will run for three weeks, from December 17th until January 7th. The show was conceived by legendary Russian performance artist Slava Polunin, described The Times as the greatest clown in the world'. The paper called his eponymous show a theatre classic of the 20 th Century.'

The show was launched in the West with the objective of raising money for Polunin's own Academy of Fools, a centre of arts designed to resurrect carnival culture in Russia. It went on to win numerous awards, including the Laurence Olivier Award for Best Entertainment in 1998.

Slava's Snowshow' is aimed at everyone above the age of 8, and takes audiences on a fantastical adventure through a bizarre dream-world. Its spectacular denouement is comprised of a raging blizzard that leaves the crowd knee deep in theatrical snow.

Tickets for the show range from £20-£49.50, with premium seats available for £65. Bookings are now being taken via LondonTown.com, the city's premier website for events, information and hotels. Even closer is the London Marriott Hotel County Hall on Westminster Bridge Road. A luxury hotel, the Marriot is offering a 26% discount on twin and deluxe double rooms. The reduced rate brings the cost of a night's stay down to £225. The Marriot is no more than five minutes walk from the Royal Festival Hall.
