Writers, performers and journalists come from around the world to London’s Southbank as part of resurgent WOW festival

-- /EPR NETWORK/ -- Women of the world will be celebrated in full voice this March by a host of exciting artists, academics, writers and performers.

The Southbank Centre's WOW Festival, originally established by Artistic Director Jude Kelly in response to the negativity she encountered on becoming the first female to run the building, is back from March 6th -10th.

Organised to coincide with International Women's Day (March 8th), the event will feature debates, networking, mentoring, workshops and free participatory events. There will also be a full programme of live music, performance, dance, theatre, poetry and comedy to choose from.

Previous stars at the event have included Sinead O'Connor, back in London herself for a series of gigs supporting her latest album, EmeliSandé and Annie Lennox.

This year confirmed highlights include National Theatre of Scotland's Menage a Trois, and author Alice Walker in conversation.
