-- /EPR NETWORK/ -- Pantomime season may be over, but that doesn't stop some of the nation's favourite fairy tales and fables coming to the stage. From Matthew Bourne currently touring to the Brighton return of Christmas favourites 1927 company with their acclaimed The Animals and Children Took to the Streets, it's a good time for spectacular shows.

And in this strange in-between time somewhere lost between winter and spring, having a pick-me-up courtesy of a bit of theatrical escapism seems to be the order of the day.

Little surprise, then, that Birmingham's Royal Ballet's winter favourite Aladdin will be bringing an extravagantly-designed magical Arabian world to the London Coliseum.

The tale of love, sorcery and triumph is brought to life through David Bintley's choreography and music by Carl Davis. This adaptation of the much-loved story returns to its original narrative, with its background in the Arabian Tales of 1001 Nights and links to ancient Chinese stories.

Having first been created for the National Ballet of Japan, Bintley's Aladdin now comes to London as part of its UK premiere tour, stopping at the Coliseum from 20th -24th March.
