March 25, 2013, 2:18 pm -- /EPR NETWORK/ -- Dubbed ‘one of the finest sketch troupes of the last decade' by the Guardian, performing trio Pappy's will bring their unique blend of skits, songs and all-round silliness to the Soho Theatre this April. The three-week run starts on April 1st and finishes on April 20th.
Punters familiar with their style will take the title of the show as the joke it is intended to be. Last summer they stormed Edinburgh 's Pleasance Dome during the festival, with a show that unfolds in flashback as geriatric versions of Ben Clark, Tom Parry and Matthew Crosby assemble to reminisce about their last ever gig.
The device itself is sent up mercilessly, with Crosby donning elderly-looking glasses over his real specs, and all three manipulating the crowd into raptures as if it were a real-life swansong. Multiple set-pieces explore themes of the money, fame and love that tore the trio apart.
These multiple-award winning sketch veterans are like nothing else on the circuit, and tickets are expected to be snapped up by devoted fans and curious newcomers alike. Tickets are available via LondonTown.com, who have also announced a number of discounts on London hotels close to the Soho Theatre.
One of the London hotels on offer is the Soho Hotel, which is currently offering a 17% discount on petite double rooms, bringing the cost of a night's stay down to £297. The Soho Hotel is located in Richmond Mews, a minute's walk from the Soho Theatre.
