Adrian Lester to star as Othello in the Southbank’s big theatre complex

-- /EPR NETWORK/ -- It's one of Shakespeare's most widely taught and performed tragedies; and he is one of television's most recognizable drama stars, having taken the lead in Hustle.

This year, Adrian Lester will meet William Shakespeare on the stage of the Olivier Theatre (the space rather aptly named after an actor who once played the role Lester is to take on – in slightly different circumstances).

The play in which they meet? Othello, the tragedy of jealousy, mind games and easily convincing misogyny, which sees ‘noble' Moor Othello convinced that his new wife Desdemona is unfaithful – for which he kills her.

Adrian Lester will bring his own take on ' Othello ' tothe National Theatre this spring – the show runs all through April. The jealous and conniving Iago will be played by Rory Kinnear, winner of best actor in the Evening Standard's drama awards after his 2010 portrayal of Hamlet.

Directed by Nicholas Hytner, this production of Shakespeare's drama will take to the stage as part of the National Theatre's 50th anniversary season. Theatre fans looking to celebrate this with a stay in one of a ream of London hotels can turn to

HotelMap for guidance.

The widget sources accommodation deals across the capital – stay at the Bridge Hotel in Borough (just over 15 minutes walk from the NT) for £87 on April 9th; alternatively try the Park Plaza County Hall Hotel, less than 10 minutes' walk, for £167.
