August 20, 2013, 11:22 am -- /EPR NETWORK/ -- Hackney Wick is given a welcome addition this summer in the form of pop up bar and restaurant, Smokey Tails. Created by six collaborators, all of whom have worthy credentials in curating fun, every aspect of the venue has been well thought out and nurtured. The team is made up of renowned DJ Seth Troxler and his VisionQuest partner Ryan Crosson, Jo Vidler from Secret Productions - the team responsible for the Secret Garden Party and Wilderness - and Ben Found from Futureline Productions, known for the production and design of Paradise Ibiza and Circo Loco events.
Decked out with sofas, cushioned benches, stone flooring and picnic bench tables, the venue offers guests a relaxed, beach-esque atmosphere. Cocktails include a Cuban Mule, Cockney Fizz and the bar's signature offering Soul Happiness, a potent concoction of tequila and watermelon served frozen. Smoked for hours before eventually being cooked on a BBQ in an open kitchen, the meat options include buffalo wings, short BBQ ribs and a pulled pork and cabbage bun, while side orders range from couscous to a tomato salad. Seth Troxler's BBQ sauce, which has been passed down through family generations, is also available to try.
With the owners heavily involved in the music industry, the venue also boasts a fine soundtrack every evening. Running throughout the summer, Smokey Tails is open Thursday through to Sunday.
