SCIT inaugurates five weeks course on software solution design for Japanese students

-- /EPR NETWORK/ -- The domain of education for the business schools is vast. From the simple business management MBA Programs to the part time MBA, business schools have to cover multiple aspects. For the IT B schools, the onus of delivering superior quality academic education is even greater. Business Management Course Pune has always been high on the priority list of students. However, the true impact of opting for MBA programs is felt only when you choose a good institution from the existing list of IT B schools. This is the reason why places like Symbiosis Institutes are amongst the most revered academic institutions in the country. A clear indicator of the reputation of the IT B schools is the amount of innovation or newness that they can add to their existing list of programs.

In line with this insight, the Symbiosis Center for Information & Technology, part of the prestigious Symbiosis Institutes in Pune in association with Cubist Edunet Pvt. Ltd, initiated a unique 5 week course on software solution design especially for a delegation of Japanese students who came in all the way from Ritsumeikan University, Kyoto, Japan. The program was kick started earlier this month on 12 th August 2013. The unique module is designed to touch upon crucial aspects of the subjects like Software Engineering, Unified Modeling Language, Software Design and Design Patterns, Object Oriented Programming. In fact, the SCIT tradition of using a holistic learning approach has ensured the inclusion of a Mini Project and Industry visit as well. This will guarantee that the students get relevant exposure along with proper academic training.

The duration of the program is five weeks and it will conclude on 13 th September and has a total of 17 participants. The inauguration happened with a grand Induction ceremony on 12.08.2013 wherein Dr. KozaburoHachimura,Dean, College of Information Science and Engineering, Ritsumeikan University, was the chief guest. The inaugural speaker for the event was Prof. Hideyuki Takada, Vice-Dean, Computer Science College of Information Science and Engineering, Ritsumeikan University who talked about the relevance of the program and the holistic training module prepared by SCIT.

Ms. KshipraPotdar and Mr. Kenichi Yoshida MD, Cubist EdunetPvt Ltd. were also amongst the dignitaries who attended the inaugural function. Dr. R Raman, Director SCIT and Dean - Faculty of Computer Studies - Symbiosis International University delivered the welcome address and the event concluded with the vote of thanks by Prof.SadhanaGhalsasi Assistant Professor - SCIT & faculty in-charge- SSD Program.  The core objective of the induction ceremony was to give the participants a sneak preview of the program, teaching methodology and the end deliverables. Additionally, it was also an ice breaking session where the students were made to feel at home and introduced to the multiple facets of Life at SCIT.

As an attempt to further facilitate the stay of these international students at the SCIT campus, the management has introduced a unique buddy system wherein a student representative from the current batches at SCIT will help their international counterparts to adjust to the life and culture at SCIT as a friend and mentor. Currently, more than forty students have volunteered to be this activity. After all, such initiatives prove to be an excellent platform for the exchange of culture, ideas, experiences thereby facilitating a lot of learning amongst the students.
