Children’s writer Jacqueline Wilson celebrated in new exhibition next year at V&A Museum of Childhood.

-- /EPR NETWORK/ -- One of Britain's most successful and popular contemporary children's authors will be celebrated by a special exhibition at the V&A Museum of Childhood in Bethnal Green next year. Daydreams and Diaries: The Story of Jacqueline Wilson opens on 5th April 2014 and runs until 2nd November. Daydreams and Diaries: The Story of Jacqueline Wilson, celebrates all things Jacqueline Wilson, giving visitors a chance to find out about her childhood, early career and what inspires her to write. Jacqueline Wilson has written more than 100 books and 30 million copies have been sold in the UK alone. They have been translated into 34 different languages.

The exhibition features original notebooks along with childhood toys, school reports and diaries. There are also extracts and illustrations from some of her best-loved books including The Story of Tracy Beaker, The Illustrated Mum and Hetty Feather. Visitors to the exhibition will discover the inspiration behind them and also hear how they have changed the lives of some of their readers. There will even be an opportunity to explore a re-creation of Jacqueline's childhood bedroom and make notes for a novel on a chaise longue that is just like hers. The exhibition will also explore why Jacqueline loves writing books and what it's like to work with illustrator Nick Sharratt.
