Tomsk, Russia, -- /EPR NETWORK/ -- “Radiozashchita-T” LLC (a small innovation enterprise in Tomsk State University) registered in December 2013 has developed a compound material absorbing and reflecting electromagnetic emission.

The compound material suggested allows to manufacture thin and light coatings absorbing or reflecting high-frequency electromagnetic emission. Compounds can be easily processed and may have increased durability, elasticity, slenderness, improved electromagnetic characteristics and other properties unattainable in pure matters. The creation belongs to the field of radioelectronic systems and human ecology.

“It may be used for protection of human health from adverse effects of household, industrial and research equipment with high-frequency emission, for solving the problem of electromagnetic compatibility of separate modules of radioelectronic equipment, for coordination of the entire receive-transmit path, for decrease of interference and noise and increase of energy performance”, Grigory Kuleshov, the enterprise’s general director says.

According to him, one of the main components, a microwave ferromagnetic material, was developed at the Radioelectronics Chair of the Radio Physics Department as early as in the 90s. Lately, carbonic nanostructures have been actively researched. Using them with magnetic materials allowed obtaining a number of new properties and improving the existing properties of the compound structure. As the enterprise’s director explained, by varying the materials’ concentration in the compound, one can get materials which can either reflect the emission or absorb it.

At the present moment, the creation is used for making protection screens which decrease adverse effects of mobile phones’ electromagnetic emission. Negotiations with Tomsk State University of Control Units and Radioelectronics, “TSKBA” LLC, “Omsk Research Institute of Instrument Engineering” on using the material in anechoic chambers for testing radio equipment are carried on currently. In future, the company is planning to use the material in construction for impregnating walls and protection of residential premises located in immediate proximity of NMT cellular base stations and wireless access points from the emission.
