The festival celebrates 30 years of laughs at the Banana Cabaret, says LondonTown.com

LONDON, July 08, 2014 -- /EPR NETWORK/ -- The Balham Comedy Festival returns to the Bedford pub for a third year of great comedy. The festival organisers have put together a programme featuring some of the best home grown and international talent for 8 nights and 9 days of hilarity.

Since 1984, the Bedford in Balham has hosted Banana Cabaret, which is dedicated to discovering, developing and promoting emerging comedy acts. Many great names in comedy started their careers at the Bedford and this year, the pub will rock with laughter to celebrate the Banana Cabaret's 30 th anniversary. The programme is a diverse mix of comedy acts. Names already confirmed for the festival include Robert Newman, Paul Daniels, Phill Jupitus, Reginald D. Hunter, Tim Vine, Stephen K Amos, Marcus Brigstocke, Milton Jones, Shappi Khorsandi, Mark Steel, Richard Herring, Jeremy Hardy, Susan Calman, Kevin Day, Gary Delaney, Kerry Godliman, Tony Law, and Fred MacAulay with more performers to be announced. For those comedy fans brave enough to take to the stage themselves, the festival will feature stand-up comedy workshops sponsored by Wandsworth council. The workshops will be hosted by funny man John Moloney who has lived in Balham for 20 years. Comedy fans can also treat themselves to a meal in Balham which features some of the best budget restaurants in London. A kitsch Italian osteria, a fishmonger's fried goods, and Georgian muesli are but some of the options in the vicinity of the Bedford.

The Balham Comedy Festival will be taking place on 11 -19 July 2014 and tickets can be purchased on the festival's official website. For more information on the line up, the location of the festival, and the restaurants in Balham, visit LondonTown.com
