LOS ANGELES, CA, October 27, 2015 -- /EPR NETWORK/ -- Jerry Zerg is the first recipient of the Best Visionary Literature Award for his book Abraham and Obama, at the 21st annual Irwin Book Awards, held at the Sportsman lodge in Studio City California. The Book Publicists of Southern California (BPSC) recently created this genre for their yearly Best Book Awards.

Visionary Literature is a new genre for books that reflect an author’s vision for confronting issues that would solve or expose problems metaphorically in a rational and easily understood manner. It is storytelling that combines facts, fiction and opinion, which Jerry Zerg often describes as Factopiction. Jerry believes that this sobriquet characterizes complicated concepts because it is an enriching, enlightening and entertaining pathway to learning. Many novels by Jules Verne, Mark Twain, H. G. Wells and George Orwell are Factopiction, which is the substance of Visionary Literature.

"It was a great honor to be chosen by BPSC for this auspicious award and to have my book described as a visionary work of literature," says author Jerry Zerg. In the groundbreaking book Abraham and Obama, Jerry Zerg uses a visionary encounter between the biblical Patriarch Abraham and our current president Barack Obama to explore religion, politics and the impact of public policy in our lives throughout history.

The book Abraham and Obama: The Impact of Abrahamic Monotheism on Religion, Politics and Society is currently available at Amazon.com and at Barnes & Noble.

Born and raised in Los Angeles Jerry Zerg served in both the Army and the Navy during and after World War II. Jerry became a practicing architect, general contractor, landscape architect, interior designer, lighting engineer, safety engineer and expert witness in all of his disciplines. His firm, United Design Associates, has provided these services for more than fifty years. Jerry was a Republican nominee for Congress, a historical lecturer at his Masonic Lodge, a musician in the Scottish Rite Orchestra, a Shrine Club Clown and a certified magician at the world renown Magic Castle. As an IFR pilot, Jerry flew medical personnel to villages in Mexico and Angel Flights for patients throughout California.
