Press Release Body = Las Vegas, NV (July 25, 2007) – Awarding winning actress Terri J. Vaughn (The Steve Harvey Show) and Take Wings Foundation (TWF) will host their 5th Annual Angel Awards Gala. TWF will present Angel awards to community trailblazers and celebrate the organization’s 10th year anniversary.

The red-carpet event hosted by Cedric “The Entertainer” (Kings of Comedy) will feature a live musical performance by Erica Campbell of the Grammy-winning, platinum-selling gospel duo, Mary Mary.

Approximately 500 business professionals, community leaders, elected officials and VIP guests are expected to attend the gala. Past Angel Awards events have attracted such star attendees as Regina King, Tavis Smiley, Nia Long, Duane Martin, Elise Neal, Gabrielle Union, Common, Chante’ Moore, Kenny Lattimore, Wendy Raquel Robinson and Vivica A. Fox.

ABOUT TAKE WINGS FOUNDATION:
Take Wings Foundation (“TWF”), a non-profit corporation, founded in 1997 by award winning actress Terri J. Vaughn, who played “Lovita Jenkins” on The Steve Harvey Show. Growing up in San Francisco’s Hunter’s Point gave her first hand knowledge of the challenges teenage girls face everyday; a community infested with drug trafficking, gang violence, prostitution and many other negative elements. TWF provides a series of workshops for 60-80 girls with a focus on self-esteem, etiquette, higher education, finances, decision making and communication skills. Participants in the workshops are also provided with opportunities to be involved with community services, interact with positive role models, mentoring and internships for specific desired careers, scholarships, awards, gifts and a semi-formal dinner with celebrity guests and motivational speakers. TWF currently provides quality life skills programs in following Greater San Francisco Bay Area counties: Alameda, Contra Costa, San Francisco and Solano.
