Press Release Body: you like happy endings then you will be pleased to know that Lisa Starret and her father, Thomas Critchley, have been successfully reunited after 21 years apart. The pair, unified in conjunction with Tracesmart’s Missing Person campaign, met for the first time yesterday in Blackpool, where Mrs Starret’s father now lives.
Mr
Critchley and his daughter were reunited by Louise Hewlett, Tracesmart’s
Public Relations & Trace Co-ordinator, as part of Tracesmart’s Missing
Person campaign which enables people to find
relatives or friends for free in exchange for their story. Explaining the
background behind the reunion Hewlett remarked, “Lisa contacted Tracesmart
looking
to find her father whom she had never met. Her parents had split up when she
was a baby and her mother moved to Belfast – that was 21 years ago.”
To aid Hewlett’s search Mrs Starret provided her father’s approximate age and a last known address, with this Hewlett conducted an address search using Tracesmart online – the UK’s most powerful people search engine which utilises information from datasets such as the electoral roll .Armed with the information Mrs Starret provided, Hewlett found one positive result and after verifying Mr Critchley’s identity telephoned Mrs Starret with the good news. Hewlett commented, “When I last spoke to Lisa she had travelled to Blackpool with her husband and children to meet her Dad. I believe they met for the first time yesterday.” As part of the information available through Tracesmart’s online people search facility, and via negotiations with Mr Critchley, Hewlett was able to facilitate the reunion by providing Mrs Starret with her father’s telephone number.
Tracesmart’s Missing Person campaign is overseen by Owen Roberts, Tracesmart’s Communications Manager. On the topic of the campaign and this latest reunion Roberts commented, “The Missing Person’s campaign has been a great success for Tracesmart and our reunited customers. Lisa and her father’s story is another example of just how easy it can be to track down a lost loved one using our search facility. The media has been keen to feature our reunion stories and hopefully it will encourage more people to start searching for their long lost friends or relatives".
