Appliance Repair Company Give Back - Repairman Donates Washing Machine to Sunderland Royal Hospital

Author: 0800 Repair
Industry: Non Profit

0800 Repair’s Appliance Repairs Engineer Paul Short recently donated the money drummed up by holding a raffle for a brand new washing machine, with the takings being donated to Cancer Research at the Sunderland Royal Hospital.

The generous act was done as a thank you to the hospital as it was at the Royal that Paul’s wife was treated for Leukaemia for three years. It isn’t the first time Paul’s generosity has benefitted the hospital’s cancer research as Paul and his friends have participated in the Coast to Coast cycle race as well.

Paul had this to say about the donation, “It was great to raise this money for the hospital. The three years my wife was treated there were an extremely difficult time for us both, but the staff at the Sunderland Royal made it that much more bearable”

“You really feel like one of the family when you went into the ward” Paul’s wife Sharon had been successfully treated for Leukaemia at the Sunderland Royal’s cancer unit and ever since Paul has tried to help raise money for the progression of cancer research at the Royal Hospital.

The washing machine was donated to Paul’s Sunderland franchise of the North East company 0800 Repair which specialises in household repairs of some key household appliances such as washing machine repairs across all household brands such as Bosch Repairs. Holding the raffle Paul managed to raise £250 that was donated to the Sunderland Royal Hospital.

The raffle attracted over 100 entrants and was eventually won by Wendy MacDonald, a 21 year old call centre supervisor
