A Paris exhibition of Bruno Serralongue's work entitled Feux de Camp has opened at the Jeu de Paume in the French capital.

Travellers staying at hotels in Paris can view this beautiful photography display until September 5th 2010 at the celebrated art space.

About 100 of Serralongue's pictures are showcased at the venue, which covers some of the finest images he has captured over the past few years.

The photographer has an unusual working style, according to the organisers, in that he does not wait for somebody to commission him with a job, he simply goes to whichever area he feels will offer the most interesting scenes.

"For me, photography does not come first. It is mediated. It comes as a second phase, after thought, after putting in place the framework that defines the rules," he is quoted as saying.

The photos are organised according to subject and location, with the focus always fixed on what is happening at the margins of an event, rather than in the centre.

Entrance costs €7 (£5.84).

Visitors can enter the art space to view the display between 12:00 and 21:00 local time on Tuesdays, 12:00 and 21:00 from Wednesday to Friday, as well as 10:00 to 19:00 at the weekend.

The venue is also showing a retrospective of William Kentridge's work.
