-- /EPR NETWORK/ -- Supporting breast cancer research has never been easier thanks to Generations Walk. Since 2005 this well organised, family event has raised more than £300,000 for various breast cancer campaigns. In 2012 the event returns to the same winning formula on London's Hampstead Heath of a 5km, multi-generation sponsored walk. The event will be in support of a new project however. Dr Jeremy Blaydes from the University of Southampton is conducting research into why chemotherapy stops in 40% of cancer patients with the main aim being to develop treatment to overcome this resistance.

The walk will take up to one and a half hours and will culminate with a picnic on Hampstead Heath for all participants. The event takes place on 9 September and costs £10 per adult and £5 per child to register. A minimum of £50 sponsorship is required from every adult and child over 12-years old.

Although not in central London, cheap London hotels around Hampstead Heath are in short supply. LondonTown.com offers Generations Walk participants advice on where to stay to be close to Hampstead Heath.
