The NBA London Live event brings some of the US’s biggest sports stars to the 02 Arena

-- /EPR NETWORK/ -- US ex-pats living in London, sports fans and the merely curious will be excited to hear confirmed the early January date for the NBA's visit to London.

Joining the NFL in moving a key game over to British soil for a very glitzy extravaganza (Wembley welcomes some of American football's big names in autumn 2012), the NBA, the official basketball association of the United States, comes to the 02 Arena for one game only, on 17th January 2013.

The New York Knicks are to go face to face with the Detroit Pistons, as a regular season game gets a trans-Atlantic twist. The game is expected to fit in well with the 02's roster, which already includes mammoth sports events like the ATP Tennis Masters.

Tickets start at £35 and go all the way up to £500 for those courtside hotspots. LondonTown.com, the number one internet site for London, has got some suggestions and offers on hotels in the area for those making a special NBA day-out of it.

If you're looking for some good deals on London hotels that are pretty central but easily communicable with Greenwich, move quick to get the best LondonTown deals and offers!

Great spots include a double room at the 4* Radisson Blu Edwardian New Providence Wharf for £112 on the night of the 17th – it's just over the water from the O2, so perfect for those anticipating a late finish.

Other central options include the Crown Plaza London Shoreditch for £133, 4* again, and located in the heart of one of the city's liveliest areas.
