December 18, 2012, 3:38 pm -- /EPR NETWORK/ -- Camden Town's scruffy Jazz Café is anticipating one its biggest New Year's events in its history, with Mica Paris and Jazzie B topping the bill on December 31st.
Britain's Queen of Soul Paris, who is celebrating 25 years in the music industry, is in the midst of completing her 8 th album. Produced by Rod Temperton, writer of Michael Jackson hits including ‘Thriller' and ‘Rock With You', the record will be released in January. New Year's revelers can expect a sample of the new material along with some classic Mica music.
Keeping the party going into 2013 will be the legend behind Soul II Soul, Jazzie B. As well as his own output, he has produced and remixed some of the leading lights of Britain's soul scene, including Maxi Priest, and international artists from Destiny's Child to James Brown. Support comes from Jazz Café regular Nathan Watson. The night kicks off at 7pm. Tickets cost £50.
