December 12, 2012, 1:06 pm -- /EPR NETWORK/ -- The Bloomsbury Theatre will host five evenings of secularist comedy and music this December. ‘Nine Lessons and Carols for Godless People' will run from Dec 16-20, and will continue its tradition of inviting scientists to speak in between the entertainment. The show contains an easy mix of satire, science and singing, all in the name of rationalism. Concert-goers should expect a few sideswipes at religion along the way.
Founded and curated by comic Robin Ince, previous year's line-ups have included a 20-piece orchestra, choirs, sets by comedians from Phill Jupitus to Ricky Gervais, and guest appearances from populist scientists like Simon Singh and Richard Dawkins.
This year's line-up is no less impressive. Stewart Lee, Chris Addison, Richard Herring and Josie Long are all performing, as are steampunk band The Men That Will Not Be Blamed For Nothing. Tickets cost between £25 and £15, and are selling fast, so the advice is to book early to avoid disappointment.
