Discounted hotels in London announced to coincide with unique musical performance

-- /EPR NETWORK/ -- To celebrate the 60th anniversary of Singin' in the Rain , the Royal Albert Hall is to host a very special screening of the much-loved musical this spring. On 8th and 9th March, the film will be shown with live orchestral accompaniment from the Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra, in the magical setting of the capital's grandest venue.

Singin' in the Rain changed cinema forever when it made its debut in 1952. Starring Debbie Reynolds, Donald O'Connor, and an unforgettable performance by Gene Kelly, it has topped the American Film Institute's 100 Years of Musicals list, as well as ranking fifth in the AFI's greatest American films of all time.

The screening will be introduced by Patricia Ward Kelly, wife of Gene, while the film's iconic score will be brought to life under conductor Neil Thomson. Audiences will have the chance to hear all of the classics from the original film, including Make ‘Em Laugh, Broadway Rhythm, Should I? , and the renowned title song, Singin' in the Rain .

The live concert marks the latest in a run of sell-out screenings at the Royal Albert Hall, including West Side Story and The Matrix . As London 's most famous venue, having played host to everyone from Wagner to Led Zeppelin since it opened its doors in 1871, it's a suitably iconic setting for one of cinema's most iconic movies.

Tickets for the concert are on sale now, with prices from £15 - £55. HotelMaps has announced details of special deals on selected London hotels to coincide with the two concert performances.
