Beautiful design and choreography come together for a special fifth anniversary tour of one of contemporary dance’s biggest hits

-- /EPR NETWORK/ -- Sculptor Antony Gormley is a perennially busy man. As well as keeping his eye in with the world of visual art, he loves to spend time in other genres and disciplines.

His most recent new partnership was forged just over a year ago in January 2012, when he collaborated with praised young choreographer HofeshShechter, on Survivor at London's Barbican Centre.

Gormley has also collaborated with landscapes, motorways and much more in his long-spanning career which has seen him and his artwork favour the unorthodox and gallery-busting, rather than the neat, tidy and sellable.

Now Gormley is set to remind us of of his artistic dexterity yet again when one of his most celebrated dance-design collaborations returns to Sadlers' Wells.

Sutra sees choreographer SidiLarbiCherkaoui and sculptor Antony Gormley collaborate with Buddhist monks of the Chinese Shaolin Temple in an exhilarating production. This spring it celebrates its fifth anniversary with a special UK tour.

The piece touches upon the philosophy and faith of the Shaolin tradition; and places it in relation to the martial art of kung fu. What is more, these contrasting themes of the piece are reflected in the contrasting artistic forces feeding the show: the unique axis between a sculptor and deft dancer-choreographer.

Dance fans looking to join the celebrations and enjoy such a curious partnership will find London hotels deals to match their interest through LondonTown.com. The show runs from April 3rd to 6th at Sadler's Wells Theatre in Islington.

During these nights, you can find deals in the Central Hotel at London's Kings Cross for £66, with a double room and breakfast included; or try the Club Quarters St Pauls' Hotel, also just over a 15 minute walk away. This offers 4 star reatment for the reduced price of £95. http://www.LondonTown.com
