Entitled ‘Bianco', this boundary-busting show turns the conventions of circus entertainment on their head to create an immersive sensory experience that is beyond imagination.
Freed from the confines of the circus ring, the action takes place above, behind, and all around a standing audience, combining traditional and contemporary circus, dance, and truly stunning stage design. Under the genius direction of Firenza Guidi, the jaw-dropping skills of the performers form part of a constantly evolving narrative that is soundtracked by a pulsating live band performance.
In the Roundhouse, the Nofit State Circus may just have found the perfect venue for their own unique brand of avant-garde circus entertainment. Originally built as a steam engine repair shed in the Victorian era, this Grade II listed building was converted into a performing arts venue in the 1960s. In the years that followed, it hosted a number of now-legendary events such as the International Times launch party in 1966, the only UK appearance by the Doors in 1968, and the Greasy Truckers Party in 1972 with Hawkwind and Brinsley Schwarz.
After falling out of use in the 80s, it was reopened in the 90s and given an extensive refurbishment in the 2000s, and has since hosted major events such as the BBC Electric Proms and the iTunes festival.
