Press Release Body = Timothy N. Stelly, Sr., author of "Tempest In The Stone" and the upcioming "The Malice of Cain" has completed an anthology of novellas titled, "Coming In Threes". The book features Stelly's "hip-hop political satire" style in such stories as "Reversal of Misfortunme", "From the Outhouse to the White House" and "Run, Boy! The Last Black Man IN America". "Reversal" explores strereotypes in the setting of the antebellum South. Four gang members are swept through a crease in the time-space continuum and land in Southampton, Virginioa in 1831, a few days before Nat Turner's slave rebel;lion.
Blacks wage a revolution and they become the slave owners and whites the slaves. In "Outhouse" a black custyodian captures the spirit of everyday Americans, and with the help of a Hollywood mega-agent, an eccentric billionaire and a powerful U.S. Senator, is swept into the White House. Howqever, his idealism ans his violation of a certain social taboo--along with a band of traitorous hangers on--threatens to
undermine his presidency and his place in history.
In "Run Boy!" Stelly spoofs the "last man" genre, giving it a humorous, urban twist. Mad scientists taint the water supplies of major cities with a chemical called Negron-3, which robs blacks of their color, cultural knowledge and mannerisms. When Alex Baker realizes he is possibly the only black man unaffected by the experiment, he goes on the lam. Later he meets several scientists who are working on an
antidote. But can he get it into water supplies before the black race is exterminated? Stelly has said that his writing style is, "A combination of Richard Wright and Richard Pryor." Some of his work can be read online at UselessKnowledge.com. He also writes a blurb in the "East Bay Voices" section of the Sunday Contra Costa Times newspaper. An upcoming urban thriller titled, "Thick As Thieves" and the coming of age tale, "Darker Than Blue" are nearing cokmpletion and will soon be made available for review.
