August 20, 2013, 11:25 am -- /EPR NETWORK/ -- Two Door Cinema Club have confirmed that they will be playing at London's O2 arena on 13 th December 2013, with tickets going on sale at 9am on Wednesday 21st August. Playing to the 20,000 capacity venue, it will be the biggest headline show to date for the Northern Irish band and will be in support of their upcoming EP Changing of the Seasons. The announcement was made on the same day that the band's latest single, eponymous to the EP, received its worldwide first play on BBC Radio 1. Produced by electronic maestro Madeon, the band's new single will be their first release since signing to record label Parlophone and is expected to lean more towards the dance genre than their previous offerings. Due for release on 30th September 2013, the Changing of the Seasons EP will feature three new songs. Having previously announced that they weren't planning on releasing a new album until 2015, this is an exciting release for the band's ever-growing fan base.
The concert in December marks another pinnacle in the band's career and their rise from touring pubs in Ireland to an playing internationally renowned stage. Speaking of the concert, guitarist Sam Halliday said: "It feels like a huge achievement, it is the thing we have been working very hard towards for a long time but at the same time we feel confident and ready that we are experienced enough and have got enough fans and enough songs and enough records behind us to headline The O2. It will be the biggest moment of our career so far!”.
