Extraordinary creations from the wardrobe of one of fashion’s most extraordinary creatures

-- /EPR NETWORK/ -- More than a hundred items from the collection of one of British fashion's most extraordinary champions goes on show at Somerset House from 20 November, and visitors looking for a London hotel should make LondonTown.com their first port of call.

As a fashion editor and journalist for influential titles such as British Vogue, Tatler, and Sunday Times Style, Isabella Blow (1958-2007) discovered and mentored design talents such as Alexander McQueen, Philip Treacy, Hussein Chalayan and Julien Macdonald, as well as models such as Sophie Dahl and Stella Tennant, becoming personal friends with many.

She was also instantly recognisable for her unique iconic style. With her jet-black hair and high cheekbones she carried off the most outlandish creations, many of which will feature in the exhibition alongside photographs, fashion shoots, film footage and personal correspondence.

After Blow's untimely death, her collection was bought by artist Daphne Guinness, who says: ‘Isabella Blow made our world more vivid, trailing colour with every pace she took.'

Isabella Blow: Fashion Galore! is at Somerset House from 20 November 2103 to 2 March 2014. Tickets cost £12.50 (£10 concessions) and £6.25 on Mondays.
