Elvis Costello and Van Morrison among those performing at Bluesfest 2014

LONDON, October 15, 2014 -- /EPR NETWORK/ -- For six days at the Royal Albert Hall next month, some of the world's finest bands and musicians will perform to packed crowds. Bluesfest 2014 will take place between 26th October and 31st October and will feature a dazzling array of international stars from the worlds of blues, soul and jazz. The Royal Albert Hall is one of London's greatest venues, hosting everything from classical music and circus events to boxing matches and tennis tournaments. Alongside the headline concerts in the main auditorium each evening, which will feature a range of huge names from around the world including Van Morrison, Elvis Costello, Gregory Porter, Level 42 and Sheryl Crow, the festival has also scheduled a full programme of daytime activity, which will see performances from some of the best blues acts in the business including Georgie Fame, Andy Fairweather Low, Mud Morganfield, Si Cranstoun   and Nell Bryden. Taking place during school half-term, the daytime programme will appeal to families, while providing young people with a unique introduction to the blues. For all the daytime events, admission is only £20 per day and kids go free.

Bluefest began in 2011 and from 2013 has been held entirely within the Royal Albert Hall. Leo Green, the Festival Director, says: “BluesFest has grown year on year to the point where we're now programming over 40 acts and expecting to welcome 30,000 music fans across the week. It's a truly special festival which we're incredibly proud of and we're really looking forward to sharing the experience with everyone."
