LONDON, December 08, 2014 -- /EPR NETWORK/ -- One of London's most original venue, Regent's Park Open Air Theatre, has confirmed that JM Barrie's original stage play of Peter Pan will open its 2015 season (15 May Ė 14 June 2015). This will be followed by The Seagull (19 June Ė 11 July) and Seven Brides for Seven Brothers (16 July Ė 29 August) and the return of Timothy Sheader's production of William Golding's Lord of the Flies (3 Ė 12 September) to conclude the 2015 season, prior to a major UK tour. The Open Air Theatre is located in the middle of Regent's Park, making it one of London's most memorable experiences for theatregoers. For more on this and other London plays opening in 2015, see LondonTown.com, where you'll also find the latest booking information for hotels in London.
For Peter Pan, Artistic Director Timothy Sheader creates a Never Land where danger stalks dreams and adventure breeds mischief while The Seagull is directed by Matthew Dunster (who previously directed A Midsummer Night's Dream at Regent's Park Open Air Theatre in 2012) in a new version by Torben Betts. The first of Chekhov's great works, The Seagull is celebrated as one of the most important plays of the nineteenth century.
From the Golden Age of the movie musical, Seven Brides for Seven Brothers finds its perfect partner in the Open Air Theatre, and reunites the team behind the 2013 award-winning production of The Sound of Music. This much-loved musical includes songs like Bless Your Beautiful Hide, Goin' Courtin, Wonderful, Wonderful Day, and the dance spectacular, Barn Dance. Finally, for just 14 performances, the Open Air Theatre's 2011 production of Lord of the Flies, William Golding's classic story of survival, superstition and immorality, adapted for the stage by Nigel Williams, returns prior to a major UK tour. Tickets for all productions go on sale to the public on 9th December. For more, see LondonTown.com.
