London’s tiny Cartoon Museum outlines its schedule for the coming year.

LONDON, December 04, 2014 -- /EPR NETWORK/ -- One of London's quirkiest venues, the Cartoon Museum, has announced its programme for 2015, and it will be typically rich in exhibitions on a wide range of subjects centred round cartoons, comics and caricatures, covering topics as diverse as Alice In Wonderland and Adolf Hitler. The Cartoon Museum is located in Bloomsbury, placing it a short distance from the British Museum. It contains hundreds of images from British cartoons and comics going back to Georgian times and including everything from Hogarth to Dennis The Menace. The area is packed with things to do, being close to Soho, Covent Garden, Oxford Street and Fitzrovia. For more about the area, see LondonTown.com, where you can also find information on the latest deals on cheap London hotels.

The exhibition programme for 2015 includes Marc: The Caricatures And Cartoons Of Mark Boxer (21st January -22 March 2015), Heckling Hitler: World War II In Cartoon And Comic Art (25th Match – 12th July 2015), Alice In Cartoonland (15th July – 1st November 2015) and Gillray's Ghost: James Gillray And His Followers (4th November 2015 – January 2016). The first exhibition looks at the work produced by the English magazine editor Mark Boxer, whose caricatures appeared in The Times and Guardian from the 1960s, often produced in collaboration with colourful jazz singer and bon vivant George Melly. The Hitler exhibition follows the Cartoon Museum's popular look at First World War cartoons, and will look at how British comic artists covered the Second World War. Alice in Wonderland remains one of the most popular children's books ever produced, and its hallucinogenic fantasies have inspired countless artists: Alice In Cartoonland will explore how some cartoonists and comic artists have covered and explored Lewis Carroll's popular Alice stories, including work from Bryan Talbot's groundbreaking graphic novel, Alice In Sunderland . Finally, Gillray's Ghost explores the work of brilliant Georgian caricaturist James Gillray to mark the 200th anniversary of his death.
