Music, talks and walks all feature during the holiday season at the Foundling Museum.

LONDON, April 27, 2015 -- /EPR NETWORK/ -- London will be full of exciting things to do this Easter, including at the Foundling Museum in Bloomsbury, where several events are being lined up. The Foundling Museum is a gallery and museum near King's Cross that explores the history of the Foundling Museum, a charitable institution founded in 1700s for orphans, with principle benefactors including William Hogarth and George Frederic Handel. This Easter it will be holding several events alongside its current exhibition, Sir Jacob Epstein: Babies and Bloomsbury. For more on this exhibition, see LondonTown.com, where you can also find the latest information and deals on London hotels, shops and restaurants.

Over Easter, the Foundling Museum will be holding a talk on sculptor Jacob Epstein with curatorial advisor Agi Katz as well as a walking tour around the historic Bloomsbury in which Epstein lived and worked. To celebrate the history of the Foundling Hospital's Boy's Band, they will be holing a Band Day, an all day tribute to the hospital's history with music and the military, including family workshops and live music from the Camden Concert Band. There will also be a performance from award-winning folk trio Moore Moss Rutter.

The events begin on Sunday 5th April with a talk and concert related to Jacob Epstein. At 2pm, Agi Katz will consider whether it was Epstein's humanity or skill that made him a great portrait sculptor. It will be followed by a piano recital from Maite Aguirre. Folk At The Foundling takes place on 17th April at 7pm, with a performance from award-winning trio Moore Moss Rutter, who bring their ‘intelligently crafted musical adventures' to the museum as they kick off their summer tour. On Sunday 19th April at 1pm, the Foundling Walk will take place. This begins from the nearby British Museum and will allow walkers to discover more about Epstein's loves and artistic inspiration whilst taking in a wealth of statues and sculptural works that depict famous figures of Bloomsbury's history, culminating at the Foundling Museum.

Finally, Band Day takes place on Saturday 25th April from 11am to 4pm. This takes the form of a family day of live music, talks and workshops to celebrate the history of The Foundling Hospital's Boys' Band. Camden Concert Band will perform outside the museum near the grounds of the original Foundling Hospital, recreating musical sounds once familiar to the area. A family workshop will run during the day, where children can make their own Band Day instruments, alongside talks on the history of the Boys' Band.
