WEBSITE OFFERS `INSIDERS` INFO` ON NATIONAL PARKS ADVENTURES
Released on: May 15, 2008, 9:50 pm
Press Release Author: Clint Pollock (Post/Designation: President)
Industry: Transportation & Logistics
Press Release Summary: Pollock is adamant about offering deep information for adventurers and travelers and he's not alone. Adventure-Crew member, Mike Pudlo, is the team's videographer.
Press Release Body: America's nearly 400 National Parks and recreational areas celebrate and preserve our nation's most outstanding, unusual, and historic natural sites. But most visitors just do a quick drive-through or, at most, visit only a few of each park's top features.
One website is dedicated to helping visitors get much deeper appreciation and enjoyment from our parks. www.Adventure-Crew.com is "Your National Parks Adventure Resource," offering in-depth information, videos, photos, tips, and "been there" insider's views of over 100 National Parks.
Deeper info than tourist books
Adventure-Crew founder and president, Clint Pollock, says, "While planning a trip to Grand Canyon several years ago, I found lots of general information on the overlooks and other tourist features. But I wanted 'insider's info' from visitors who'd taken adventuring a little more seriously."
That simple idea - collecting and freely disseminating hands-on reports by more adventurous visitors - has spawned Adventure-Crew.com and its more than 10,000 online web pages with over 8,000 articles, photos, and videos on more than 100 of our National Parks. And the depth of information grows daily.
Photos & Videos
Pollock is adamant about offering deep information for adventurers and travelers and he's not alone. Adventure-Crew member, Mike Pudlo, is the team's videographer. "We go to National Parks and videotape our own adventures and load them on our site, www.Adventure-Crew.com. Want to see what it's like to hike to Panamint Springs in Death Valley? Or see Carlsbad Caverns before you visit? Want to see an alligator chase Clint in the Everglades? Check out over 50 videos on our website."
Editor, Stu Marks, is responsible for Adventure-Crew's editorial content. "Every library's full of generic travel books," says Marks. "We're a free, online clearinghouse of much deeper, current, timely info by adventurers, for adventurers." Marks online reports range from "Trail of the Week" (check out the view at mile 3!) to news items like "Biologist removes snare from Denali wolf."
The resources for adventurers run deeper still. Adventure-Crew offers a free adventure newsletter, "Adventure-Crew eNews" to visitors who sign up for a free subscription. Recent issues include a gear review of Spot Satellite Messenger, tips on waterproofing matches, and a kid's corner article on Skinks.
Adventure Blog
Adventure-Crew members aren't the only adventurers who can't stop talking about adventure. Their sister site, www.Adventure-Space.com is an adventurer's dream come true: a blogging site where adventurers share their travel stories, impressions, pictures, videos, outdoor information, and tall tales, of course.
In recent posts, Adventure-Space blogger, Jasper, asks and receives "insider info" on Copper Canyon in Mexico. Blogger, Ashley, posts news of 27 new species of spiders, millipedes, and other "bugs" discovered in California caves. CayteLin posts a blog entitled "The Ratchet Ride to the Ravine - or How Not to Cure Your Arachnophobia." Not for the squeamish!
Adventure Products & Services, too
Now that Adventure-Crew.com has become the online informational crossroads for adventurers, the site is now accepting a limited amount of advertising from closely screened organizations and companies that have unique adventure products or services for its visitors.
"Our visitors get easy access to some extraordinary products on our site," says Pollock. "That's good for both visitors and advertisers. Advertising revenue allows Adventure-Crew.com to remain a free online resource. And that's good for everybody."
Planning a visit to Dry Tortugas, Crater National Monument, the Great Smokey Mountains, or any of America's National Parks? Visit www.Adventure-Crew.com first. And as Pollock and his crew are fond of saying, "Make every day an adventure."
