Press Release Body: Los Angeles, CA, July 02, 2008 -- Green from the very beginning -- Clothing of the American Mind.
Started Green, plans to stay Green, and do whatever it can to help various progressive causes throughout the US.
Unlike other companies jumping on the green bandwagon to create profits or make their shareholders feel good about their investment, Clothing of the American Mind (cotam.org) has been green since its inception in March of 2004. COTAM is a grassroots company deeply committed to creating apparel that is environmentally safe and responsible, politically and socially conscious, sweatshop free, American made and Fair Trade. In 2006, they launched their first full 100% organic line for women, men and children. These products are the most sustainable, responsible, high quality t-shirts on the market. With stylish eco-chic Clothing of the American Mind, you can look great and feel great at the same time. It\'s fashion without any sacrifice.
Be Fashionable and Make a Statement -- by just wearing their Shirts.
By just wearing Clothing of the American mind, not only are you fashionable, you are also an activist for the environment and other social causes. Taking Corporate Social Responsibility to the next level, Clothing of the American Mind strives to leave the lightest footprint possible on the planet. Their products are made of recycled plastic bottles, organic cotton, soy ink, printed in plants that recycle and are solar powered. You cannot get more planet or people friendly than that.
Clothing of the American Mind also donates a portion of its profits to various progressive causes. Since their inception in 2004, over $40,000 has been donated to ACLU, Amnesty International, Democracy for America, Environmental Action, Progressive Democrats of America, Planned Parenthood, Voter Action and countless others. For a full list of organizations they have donated funds to, go to their beneficiary list on their website.
They also stay active in the community and attend various progressive and environment friendly events, such as Whole Children, Whole Planet Expo, Los Angeles Festival of Books, and the Boulder Creek Festival. Clothing of the American Mind will also have a presence at the Democratic National Convention.
Shirts are available in men\'s, women\'s, children\'s and baby\'s sizes. Some of our more popular shirts include Vote For Change, I Recycle Stuff, Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, I \"Heart\" Civil Liberties, Stop Wars and Electoral College Drop Out.
Clothing of the American Mind was founded by Caitlin Blue, a Hollywood set decorator and all-around creative. Eric Waterman, contributes as their trusty photographer and marketing consultant. Caitlin\'s business partner, Carly Miller, one of two full time staffers, is the company\'s co-director, running the online business, the flagship store, COTAM\'s activist endeavors and so much more. Carly\'s partner, Matthew Gerbasi, is on board as the company\'s second full-timer, assisting with the day-to-day operations and traveling the continent as a political activist raising awareness and funds for progressive causes.
