Press Release Body: Log Cabins: Past & Present is an incredible collection of imagery that takes you on a tour of old and new log homes, offering restorers and new homebuilders alike a chance to recreate architectural traditions in a home for today’s family. There’s inspiration for every room inside, as well as the exteriors of structures that are part of time-honored landscapes. Examine details of log finishing and chinking, staircases, windows, doorways, and floors that work together to frame the log home lifestyle. Hundreds of photos make this a priceless reference for planning and furnishing your dream log cabin.

Hearthstone began thousands of homes ago in 1971 as a restorer of old log homes in the southern Appalachian Mountains. It wasn't long until there were more people who wanted those homes than there were old logs for restoration. When Hearthstone set out to learn how to craft new homes – it was imperative to keep the quiet strength of character of those original log and heavy timber homes of the Early American Timberwright®. Though thoroughly designed and engineered to reflect the experience of thousands of homes and the best in modern technology and comfort, Hearthstone’s log homes remain what they were at our modest, yet proud, beginning: faithful reproductions of those 150-200 year old, heart-stopping, hewn, and dove-tailed homes that were the pride and labor of our forefathers.
