Art enthusiasts booked into one of the many fine hotels Paris has to offer could find they learn more about the artistic process at the Revelations exhibition.

It is free to view this intriguing display, which is running from September 18th to October 17th 2010 at the Petit Palais in the French capital.

Revelations involves a collection of 40 digital videos that each cover a different masterpiece by some of the most famous painters in history.

"The greatest masters such as Veronese, Rembrandt, David, Delacroix, Courbet and Van Gogh are gathered here in a pantheon of digital well beyond the borders of the Petit Palais," explained the venue.

What the display is aiming to do is create a journey for the visitor to go on, which will end with them having a greater understanding of the "language of art", as well as specific details of a painting, according to the organisers.

They pointed out that new context can be presented to attendees, which will allow them to reflect on wider issues and offer a new experience.

The art space is open from 10:00 until 18:00 local time from Tuesday to Sunday, but closed on Mondays and bank holidays.

Another exhibition showing at the institution is a retrospective of the work of designer Yves Saint Laurent, which is on display until August 29th 2010.
