Cruises from Hull, Newcastle, Leith and Liverpool are just some of the ‘no-flying’ cruise aboard Ocean Countess being offered by Newmarket Holidays in 2011.

Following on from 2010's hugely successful inaugural season, the new Ocean Countess 2011 cruises programme once again offers exciting holidays at great value prices.

For the 2011 season, Ocean Countess first sets sail from regional ports around the UK in early spring. The first voyage is a weekend ‘taster’ from Tilbury to Hull, via Amsterdam, is followed by a 14-night cruise from Hull in search of the fabled Northern Lights. This two-week cruise kicks off an extensive programme of cruises from Hull that sees Ocean Countess visit the Nordic cities of Copenhagen and Demark; skirt the shores of Northern France, Guernsey and Amsterdam on a nostalgic Wartime Memories voyage; take a 10-day cruise round Britain in Bloom; and make four, week-long voyages to the Norwegian Fjords with a fjords cruise from Newcastle. As spring turns into summer, a second ‘Round Britain’ cruise, a further visit to the fjords and a 13-day cruise through the Baltic to St Petersburg round off the Hull cruise programme.

Leaving Hull, the Ocean Countess cruise heads north for a series of Cruises from Newcastle that includes a quartet of fjords voyages – the last returning to the Edinburgh port of Leith - and a return visit to the Baltic Cities.

High summer sees Ocean Countess offering cruises from Leith to the Baltic Cities and the Norwegian Fjords, as well as a short voyage, returning to Liverpool, to the Shetlands, Faeroes and Hebrides.

The Merseyside port becomes ‘home’ for Ocean Countess from late summer 2011, with cruises from Liverpool including a nine-day Fjordland Splendour voyage, a 10-day‘Round Britain’ sailing and a 13-day ‘sunshine cruise’ south to Spain and Portugal in mid-September.

Ocean Countess has received excellent reviews during her first season, and Andy Jones, Newmarket’s Ocean Cruise Director, is pleased to be offering the programme of cruises from regional ports for a second time. “Being able to offer cruises from Hull, for example, makes such a difference to our customers," says Jones. "Passenger feedback from the ship has been good - and people really appreciate the 'no-flying' aspects and the regional departures on Ocean Countess."

Cruises aboard Ocean Countess start at £399 for a six-day Fjords cruise from Newcastle, with reductions of up to £1200 per cabin available for her six-week February cruise to the Amazon and Orinoco from Tilbury and Falmouth.*
