HolidayCity.com – On the auspicious date of 10.10.2010, the city of Munich would come alive with the thunderous sound of thousands of runners who would be vying for the honour to be champions at the 25th Anniversary Marathon. Approximately 42.195 kilometers of the route would traverse some of the most beautiful and popular tourist attractions in the city such as the Olympic Park, Schwabing, Englischer Garten, Marienplatz, Odeonsplatz and many more. With veteran and amateur marathon runners, together with many more supporters and curious visitors, descending on the city, Munich hotels are expected to run at maximum capacity during this period.

This year’s 25th Anniversary Marathon promises many exciting surprises and first-time events such as the half marathon, a six kilometer costume run and a run specifically for students. The fun and excitement starts on Friday, 8th October 2010 with a Food Service and Noodle Party at the Olympic Park. On Saturday, 9th October, the fun continues at the Costume Run as participants dress up in their national costume and run the 6 kilometers route before they get to enjoy a traditional Bavarian breakfast at the Event Arena. On Sunday, 10th October 2010, runners who are not prepared to run the full marathon can take part in the half marathon. Covering a large part of the marathon route, they would still be able to experience the same euphoria and sense of achievement as they finish the 21 kilometers route.
