Given the current economic climate, setting up your own franchise business could be a frightening proposition. In 1987, having decided upon starting their own business that’s exactly what Bournemouth based entrepreneurs John and Vivienne Minton of Chem-Dry Kalliste set out to achieve. With over 2 decades providing outstanding upholstery and carpet cleaning services to Bournemouth and the surrounding communities, 2011 will be a year for both Chem-Dry Kalliste and the Chem-Dry business itself to celebrate as they enter their 25th year of trading.

The longevity of the Chem-Dry Kalliste business has been built with a long-term vision in mind, by constantly assessing the long-term needs of their customer base. This has proved to be the catalyst for operating a highly sustainable and successful cleaning franchise business. Chem-Dry Kalliste is a great example of how a well managed franchise can be successful, with the necessary processes in place to allow for the growth of the domestic and commercial business, even during flood surge periods.

John Minton, Proprietor of Chem-Dry Kalliste, comments “We opted for a Chem-Dry franchise as we believed the Chem-Dry business model could inspire us. Our franchise bears no resemblance to the business we started back in 1987. Times have definitely changed as the Chem-Dry Kalliste business originally operated from a small vehicle, whereas now our business operates from a purpose built state-of-at-art Truckmount carpet and upholstery cleaning system. The progress in Chem-Dry’s unique cleaning technology and equipment has allowed our business to maintain high standards of service, whilst improve drying times, cleaning performance and providing healthier homes and workplaces”.

Mark Galsworthy, Head of Chem-Dry Franchising comments “Chem-Dry Franchising is extremely proud that the first ever UK Chem-Dry franchise, is still going strong and we share in John and Vivienne’s delight that their franchise and the overall Chem-Dry business has reached the milestone of moving into the 25th year of successful trading. Chem-Dry Kalliste is a shining example and a great role model for other aspiring franchises. They exemplify what franchising and Chem-Dry is all about working tirelessly hard on their business, with enthusiasm to burn, continually striving for improvement and trying to ensure their standards never drop”.

John comments “It provides me with immense satisfaction to be celebrating our 25th year of running a family based professional carpet and upholstery cleaning service to Bournemouth and the surrounding communities. Like so many other businesses there have been ups and downs, but it has been a fantastic journey and I have been privileged to met some wonderful people and clean at all kinds of domestic homes and commercial businesses.”

Chem-Dry Kalliste is independently owned and locally based business who have been trading since 1987. Today the domestic and commercial carpet cleaning and upholstery cleaning business is still run by husband and wife team John and Vivienne Minton and it has evolved to its current size through the provision of exceptional service to their domestic and commercial customers throughout the communities of Bournemouth and East Dorset.
