A recent study by the Royal Institute of British Architects,
reports that new build housing is almost 8% smaller in square footage
than the recently adopted new house build guidelines in greater London.
This trend in smaller and smaller bedrooms has driven demand for slim-line and compact furniture to unprecedented levels.
A Bianca, a senior buyer for The Furniture Market™ commented "We commissioned
prototype some slim-line furniture, just to see if there was a demand for it, as the
numbers were suggesting." she continued, "we were very pleasantly surprised by the
orders and indeed we have a number of orders on back order which have convinced us
this trend is not going away". Its not all bad though, The Furniture Market™ have
reported strong sales in XL furniture some 25% bigger than standard British sizes.
The Furniture Market have decided to commission extra large oak bedroom furniture for the UK market also.
Strong demand in Oak, French, Mirrored and other niche furniture verticals are at
the heart of The Furniture Markets™ impressive online sales growth in 2011 also.
They are definitely an E-Commerce company going places in 2012.
