Sports fans to get first glimpse of new Riverbank Arena on Stratford’s Olympic Park

-- /EPR NETWORK/ -- Some of the world’s best hockey teams will play in the Visa International Invitational Hockey Tournament, which will take place at the Riverbank Arena from 2nd to 6th May 2012 in the Olympic Park, a test event for London 2012 and part of the London Prepares series.

Men’s teams include Germany, gold medal winners in Beijing four years ago, Australia who are ranked number two behind Germany, Great Britain and India while the women’s competition is between current world champions Argentina, China, Korea and Great Britain who beat the Dutch team, winners of the gold medal in 2008, at the recent Champions Trophy in Argentina and for sports fans and participants travelling to London for the event, offers a convenient way to book one of the many London hotels listed on the website.

The four day tournament will offer visitors to London the chance to be the first to see world-class hockey at the newly built Riverbank Arena with its blue and pink pitches which make it one of the most striking venues within the Olympic Park. Tickets for the men’s and women’s bronze medal matches on Sunday 6th May, priced at £5-£15, are still available however all other sessions are sold out.
