Special dedication to Caribbean country in honour of Olympics athletes.

-- /EPR NETWORK/ -- One of the more unusual elements of the summer Olympics festivities is the announcement of the Jamaica Village. Starting on 3rd August, Finsbury Park will play host to the sights, sounds and smells associated with the country.

Visitors to Jamaica Village will be delighted to learn that LondonTown.com is offering a selection of discounts on hotels in London throughout August, making the festival and a break in the capital a considerably more affordable prospect.

The Jamaica Village is being set up partly to honor Jamaican athletes taking part in the Games. The event also marks fifty years since Jamaica won its independence from the UK. The long-standing ties between the two countries have largely continued during the post-colonial period, and the event which runs until 12th August will celebrate this relationship.

Traditional Jamaican dance will form a central part of the festivities. There will be live performances, and art and fashion available to buy. Food stalls will sell all manner of Jamaican fare, including the famous jerk chicken.

More information on the Jamaica Village is available at LondonTown.com, the go-to website for events and hotels in London. Visitors to the site will find a number of significant discounts on hotels in London many of them close to Finsbury Park.

The four-star Thistle Euston Hotel London is a couple of miles from Finsbury Park, and offers a 70% discount on double rooms when booking through LondonTown.com. The discount brings the nightly rate down to £140 per room.

The Crowne Plaza London Shoreditch offers four-star luxury for just £147 per night a 66% reduction on the usual rate.
