Cloud services are often found built into Android and iOS phones. However, consumers tend to be confused about cloud-based security and worried about the rise in data breaches and hackers stealing private information. The cable has the benefit of operating independently of any cloud-based storage systems and is therefore immune to data theft and loss. Directly connected to the power source, the cable does not require an internet connection and works directly with the free MEEM Android or iPhone app to back up and store data onto the cable itself.
