for Father’s Day

FOUNTAIN INN, S.C.,2016-Jun-02 — /EPR Network/ — Father’s Day is just around the corner, but it’s not too late to give Dad a gift he’ll treasure forever.

Three years in the making, the Chattooga – the first knife in the Expedition Series – is designed and built to the same rigid standards as Williams Knife’s handcrafted legacy knives. Made to handle extreme conditions, the Chattooga will quickly become Dad’s favorite everyday carry piece.

“Customers have been asking me for years to develop a series of production knives, including folders, that live up to the Williams name and that can be used in extreme conditions,” Chris Williams, founder and craftsman behind all Williams Knife’s offerings, said. “For the past three years, I have been designing and building prototypes for this new series with the intent of designing a knife that was extremely strong, durable and also great to look at.”

About Williams Knife Co.

Williams Knife Co. is the project and passion of Chris Williams, a man who traded in 13 years as a corporate investor for a full-time career in knife making, a skill he learned as a young boy in his grandfather’s shop behind his house. Although he experienced success in the corporate world, Williams still heard his workbench call him back to his true passion, knife making. While still an investment broker, he found himself spending more and more time in the shop behind his house creating knives for his family and friends, and experimenting with different steels, exotic woods and innovative designs. Word of Williams’ custom knives and craftsmanship quickly spread and he found himself receiving numerous orders from individuals around the country who wanted something special. By 2010, Williams realized he could turn his hobby into a career and took a shot.

He moved to Johns Island, S.C., and gained retail distribution. His first break came in 2011, when he received Garden & Gun’s “Made in the South Award” for his Edisto oyster knife. In 2012, Williams received his second break when U.S. Ryder Cup Team Captain Davis Love III commissioned him to create knives for his team to commemorate the internationally renowned golf event. Currently, Williams Knife Co. creates 50 – 75 knives a week and the wait time ranges four months to one year. And, Williams continues to walk into his shop each day knowing that he is doing what he really loves.
