Indian Art Ideas - Online Art GalleryNoida, India, 2019-Jul-20 — /EPR Network/ — As per the tradition of the Indian Art Ideas’ admirable work to showcase artists to a wider audience around the world, Mr. Amar Singha been selected as the Artist of the Month for July 2019.

Born in Hooghly district of the glorious Indian state of West Bengal, Mr. Amar Singha grew up living in several places because of his father’s transferable job. He gives credit to this kind of life-on-the-go for rich experiences that he had in childhood which imprinted his mind, the valuable memories that he still carries around with him. He studied western art from the well-known Academy of Creative Art located in Kolkata. During the final year, he came across a book named Indian Miniature Art which greatly impressed him and inspired him to unite Indian and Western styles of painting. What began as a mode to express, later became his very life. He brings out the artworks that create chaos inside him, emotions that are anxious to be brought alive on the canvas. He is an abstract artist, with a style that exudes cubism. A certain geometry is prominent in his artworks when he makes use of vibrant colors, straight lines, edges, textures, and space. He has neared his goal with each art piece by painting subjects that are Indian but in a style that is Western. And clearly, he has been fairly successful in the endeavor.

In his artistic journey so far, he has overcome fear, realized his uniqueness, and embraced all that there is in him and the life around him. He likes to listen to music as he paints. He shares about his state of mind when he is deeply involved in his artwork revealing how his inner mind is overtaken by a certain rhythm and what he paints, aligns with the music in him and that is something he absolutely loves about his work. He is a kind of an artist who wants to give his audience some peace, which is manifest in all of his paintings. ‘Lord Ganesha’ made in bright orange hues is a soothing proof of the claim. The symmetrical figure gesturing blessings gives solace. The divine is harkened in a sharply-edged yet sublime form. ‘Amativeness’ is another significant artwork of this distinctive artist. Navy blue, yellow, orange, and white colors are applied in oil to create a union of two figures. The individuals that are conjoined depict a deep relation. The painting has a solid outlook but it brings out a fluidic emotion.

He is an avid reader who picked up a brush at an early age to draw the stories that he read. Currently based in Raghunathganj in the Murshidabad district of West Bengal, Mr. Amar has exhibited his works through a solo exhibition in West Bengal in 2013. His artistic contributions have been recognized by Light Space Time, an online American art gallery that showcased his work by group exhibitions in New York and Los Angeles in the same year. His inspiration comes from the impressions that life creates on his mind. Someone who says he’d have been a monk if not an artist, we would like to congratulate him and wish him all the success in his career.
