THE BILTMORE LOS ANGELES RAMPS UP ITS EFFORTS TO PREVENT AND COMBAT HOMELESSNESS

LOS ANGELES, CA, 2020-Mar-10 — /EPR Network/ — On March 5, 2020, the L.A. County Homeless Initiative organized its fourth annual conference, to bring together more than 1000 stakeholders engaged in the watershed movement to combat and prevent homelessness. Themed Preventing and Combating Homelessness: Expanding Collaboration, Busting Barriers and Driving Impact, the daylong summit included interactive forward-looking discussions around issues including racism, poverty and housing scarcity; special populations; rapid rehousing; prevention and diversion; and incarceration and homelessness.

The forum gathered leaders from across the diverse network of regional partners, including community-based homeless service providers, cities, county departments, faith organizations, philanthropy and people who have lived the experience of homelessness. Conference featured various panels and breakout sessions that are intended to facilitate a focused group discussion on both current and emerging issues that are critical to the success of the Initiative.

As part of a broader commitment to drive societal change, and strengthen its community engagement and ties, The Biltmore Los Angeles partnered with the LA County to sponsor the Conference.  “We’re excited to partner with LA County, and appreciate their commitment to preventing and helping our homeless community,” said Jimmy Wu, General Manager at The Biltmore Los Angeles “Homeless people are one of the most vulnerable groups in our community and developing new polices is key to unlocking their ability to become financially secure. We’re proud to host the Conference to prevent and help homeless to build better futures for themselves.”
