DataVare Version 2.0’s NSF Converter Adds a Selective Export and More New Features for NSF to PDF Migration

A Version 2.0 update lets users preview and selectively export NSF mailboxes before converting them to PDF, while keeping the tool Windows only where Lotus Notes actually runs.

NEW DELHI, India, 2026-09-09 — /EPR Network/ — Anyone who has converted a large NSF mailbox to PDF for compliance or legal review knows the drill: pick the file, run the tool, then sort through the output afterward to find what you actually needed. That workflow has been standard for years, mostly because NSF conversion tools have historically treated every mailbox as an all-or-nothing job. DataVare Software’s Version 2.0 update to its NSF Converter is built to change that, giving users more control before a single PDF is generated.

The update centers on three additions: a preview pane, selective export, and a rebuilt interface, alongside broader language support.

  • The preview pane is the most requested piece. Users can now open an NSF file directly inside the tool and browse its folder structure and individual messages before starting a conversion. For anyone working with an old Lotus Notes archive of uncertain size or content, that means confirming what’s actually there instead of finding out only after the PDFs have already been created.
  • Selective export builds on that. Rather than converting an entire mailbox in one pass, users can choose specific folders, apply a date range, or combine both to pull only the messages that are relevant. For legal and compliance teams working against a narrow request, this cuts out a lot of unnecessary processing and output cleanup.
  • The interface has also been redesigned around fewer, more clearly labeled steps, aimed at people who don’t handle NSF files on a regular basis and don’t want to learn the format’s quirks just to run one conversion.

One thing hasn’t changed with this release: the tool remains Windows only. NSF is built around Lotus Notes and Domino, and since neither platform runs on macOS, there was never a Mac version of the workflow to bring this update to. DataVare has instead focused its Mac support elsewhere, on formats like PST and MBOX where Apple Mail and Thunderbird are actually in use.

Rounding out the release, the interface is now available in 19 languages, extending the tool’s usability to teams working outside English-speaking markets who previously had to navigate an English-only conversion process.

“Most people converting NSF to PDF are pulling records for a specific purpose, not archiving an entire mailbox,” said a spokesperson at DataVare. “Being able to check the contents and export selectively cuts out a lot of the cleanup work that used to come after the conversion, not before it.”

The NSF Converter is available now as a free trial, with licensing options for users who need to process larger volumes of mail on a regular basis.
