It appears that the #1 author on this list has sold a whopping 4 copies through Ingrams. After his book’s mention in the influential ‘New York Times’, sales have increased dramatically for Mr. Weaver as the Ingram warehouses are now stocking 6 copies.

Ironically, the #5 author, Margaret Gaither, has sold 76 copies of her title yet only two [2] copies can be found in Ingrams warehouses across the nation. The second place top seller, Ms. Lori Space Day, sold 17 copies, yet, oddly enough, is still ranked below Mr. Weaver. Peruse the list and note that some have sold less than one book, and warehouse demand has been a bit lax.

You will notice that ALL BUT ONE of these books was published in August, September or October of 2004. The rankings are courtesy of Amazon.com and show the #1 listed top seller as having no ranking, which generally means one thing – no sales. Not one single sale has been made on Amazon.com so far. The highest-ranking book has sold 72 more copies than the #1 book.

Should you be interested in verifying these statistics, please contact Ingram’s automated stock status system at any time. All you need is a book’s ISBN number. The phone number is 615-213-6803

PublishAmerica has claimed that they are not a vanity press, as they charge no upfront fees. Yet the author pays $30 plus copying and postage fees to register their manuscript. Genuine traditional publishers automatically do this for their authors. Also, the all-important CIP [Cataloging-in-Publication Data] number is not
assigned to PublishAmerica titles. This means that libraries can’t order their books. Publish America has built a successful business model of having their authors purchase their own books. PublishAmerica periodically sends out e-mails to their authors offering bulk discounts to buy their own [and each other’s] books.
