Press Release Body = 3GSM World, Cannes – February 14, 2005 – Extended Systems
(NASDAQ: XTNDE), a leading provider of mobile application solutions for the enterprise, and Synchronica Software, the German specialist for mobile synchronization and device management, announced today that Extended Systems will
offer the Synchronica SyncML Device Management server combined with Extended Systems’ XTNDAccess Device Management SDK.

The Synchronica SyncML Device Management Server provides a highly scalable, carrier-grade device management server for device manufacturers and mobile operators. Using the OMA SyncML DM (Device Management) protocol, the Synchronica Server can perform automated remote device diagnosis and repair of settings and firmware update over-the-air (FOTA). It features a unique server-side XML scripting language which can be used to build automated unit tests for handset manufacturers
and complex automated hotline systems for mobile operators.

“Synchronica has a proven track-record with leading European and US handset manufacturers and an excellent product with unique automation and logging facilities”, said Charles Jepson, president and CEO at Extended Systems. “By combining our products we are able to provide a complete end-to-end solution shortening the development time and improving quality assurance for mobile phone
manufacturers”.

Extended Systems XTNDAccess Device Management SDK is a full-featured toolkit that enables device manufacturers to embed industry-standard device management client protocols into cell phones. As part of an overall device management strategy,
XTNDAccess Device Management SDK enables device manufacturers and carriers to perform firmware patch upgrades by taking remote control of a device, eliminating the need for end users to perform these upgrades and drastically reducing support costs.

“Extended Systems is the market leader in the field of OMA [SyncML] client software embedded in many mobile phones shipping today or currently under development.” said Carsten Brinkschulte, Founder and CEO of Synchronica, “We are excited to combine our Synchronica SyncML Device Management Server in a best-of-breed solution with Extended System’s SyncML Clients”.

Extended Systems and Synchronica will demonstrate the Synchronica SyncML Device Management Server combined with the Extended Systems XTNDAccess Device Management SDK during 3GSM World Congress in Cannes, France from February 14th – 17th, in Extended Systems’ booth, Stand F47, Hall 2.
