2022August 28, 2013, 8:13 am -- /EPR NETWORK/ -- It happened, as it so often happens in real life: after eating at a snack-bar, the packaging and extra food was thrown away in a trash receptacle, but so was the black wallet. It was realized too late - the money was gone, the passport was gone, the driver's license was gone .... annoyance, anger, frustration. Can it get any worse? Went into the cinema, came home, and everything appeared to be in order. The next day, the maximum amount was withdrawn from an ATM using my card number, because a so-called credit card sniffer had stolen my card data using an electronic reader and created a copy.
The idea for the smartMiniSafe -sMS for short- came from these sorts of experiences. After three years of development the economist Bernd Siebler now introduced his invention as a World First in Queensland, Australia. He obviously did not only stand up loss, theft and data reading but created a smart Lifestyle product:
- The color coated aluminum case protects the contents without compromise, be it cards, IDs, bank notes, coins.
- Even the increasing credit card theft (RFID fraud) -whereby the data on a credit card in a conventional money wallet can be read unnoticed- is prevented by the reflective material of the protective case.
- The smartMiniSafe can practically not be lost. It transmits a shrill alarm continuous tone, as soon as it is at a distance of more than appr. 5m (adjustable) from the mobile phone.
- It immediately reports a theft, regardless of whether the pickpocket targeted the Mini-Safe, or the mobile phone and thus protects both units.
The ingenious twist: should a particularly "cool" thief try to empty the smartMiniSafe -otherwise easily opened over a magnetic lock- this is prevented by a mechanic locking ... so that the person falls into a state of panic and throws away the mini-safe together with its contents on account of the with 80 decibels loud resounding alarm.
Whoever wants to wait until the time where any payment will be effected by means of a smartphone will learn to appreciate the smartMiniSafe even more. The sMS will just have to watch out for the mobile phone itself!
