Texas Young Profesionals San Antonio Chapter to host first annual Holiday Gala

San Antonio, Texas, -- /EPR NETWORK/ -- On Thursday, December 5, 2013, the Texas Young Professionals San Antonio Chapter will host its First Annual Gala at the Westin La Cantera Hill Country Resort & Spa, from 6:00 pm to 12:00 am to benefit the Marine Corps Toys for Tots. Cassandra Lazenby, co-host and co-producer, Daytime at Nine on FOX 29/CW 35 TV San Antonio, will serve as mistress of ceremonies.

Texas Young Professionals is a community of professionals ranging in age from 20s to mid-40s across Texas. The organization's mission is to foster relationship building, career development, entrepreneurial endeavors, and civic involvement among young professionals. The San Antonio Chapter has become the second largest chapter in the state with more than 1,900 members representing a variety of industries throughout the city. TYP San Antonio hosts a monthly networking social that brings young professionals together at venues like The Veranda, Alteza Private Residences, and Steinheimer's Lounge at the Westin La Cantera to raise funds for local charities such as Girls on the Run, the San Antonio Food Bank, and the San Antonio Humane Society.

The San Antonio Chapter of TYP is the first to host a holiday gala, said Shelly Alvarez, Managing Director, TYP San Antonio Chapter. This shows how relevant our organization is and how committed the young professionals of San Antonio are to serving the community.

Texas Young Professionals San Antonio Chapter was formed in San Antonio in January 2009. The TYP San Antonio Board of Directors is comprised of individuals from the community representing a variety of industries, such as health insurance, real estate, and finance. The mission of the U. S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Program is to collect new, unwrapped toys during October, November and December each year, and distribute those toys as Christmas gifts to less fortunate children in the community in which the campaign is conducted.
