Stockholm, May 11, 2015 -- /EPR NETWORK/ -- The second edition of India Unlimited, a platform which seeks to better economic relations and social ties between India and Sweden, commenced today in Stockholm with the launch of the second Indian film festival, ‘Cinema Indien’. The three-month long programme of India Unlimited initiated by the Indian Embassy in Sweden will bring together experts from the business community, government and the academia from both the countries for lively discussions on themes related to technology & services, innovation & leadership, gender diversity, smart cities and India government’s ‘Make in India’ initiative.

The film festival is being jointly organised by The Embassy of India in Stockholm and SF BIO, Sweden’s leading cinema chain in collaboration with the Indian National Film Development Corporation and Air India. The festival will showcase eight stellar feature films that have been critically acclaimed by the Indian film fraternity recently, namely ‘Margarita with a straw’, ‘Ankho Dekhi’, ‘Finding Fanny’, ‘Liar’s Dice’, ‘Mary Kom’, ‘Tasher Desh’, ‘Killa’, ‘Open Tee Bioscope’. The festival seeks to challenge the notion that Indian films are typically flamboyant productions that are centred on song-and-dance routines. The screening of each film will be followed by panel interactions between recognised personalities from the Indian firm fraternity such as Nasseruddin Shah, a veteran bollywood actor; Shonali Bose, Director of Margarita with a Straw; Anindya Chatterjee, Director of Open Tee Bioscope and Neena Lath Gupta, MD, National Film Development Corporation.

“India Unlimited seeks to strengthen India-Sweden connections and partnerships in all areas that benefit both countries, with a special emphasis on economic relations and people-to-people ties through business seminars and exhibitions. India Unlimited is about promoting India in Sweden, as well as promoting Sweden in India,” said Banashri Bose Harrison, Ambassador of India to Sweden.

“We warmly congratulate the Indian Ambassador to Sweden for spearheading multiple efforts since 2012 to increase cooperation between the two nations. The India Unlimited programme holds immense potential in raising awareness in Sweden about India and vice-versa,” says the Swedish Ambassador to India, Mr. Harald Sandberg.

Several business conferences and seminars will be organised as part of India unlimited in Sheraton Stockholm Hotel, with the help of the Sweden India Business Council. These sessions will bring together eminent speakers from both countries and initiate discussions aiming at exploring many interesting ideas for India-Sweden partnerships in different fields.
